Bolton
Hospitals Health and Social Club - The Health Service Sports and
Social Club (HSSSC) is a club for Health Service employees in
Bolton. Various events and activities are organised and subsidised,
eg. theatre trips, family outings etc. The Hospital also runs a
fitness centre membership, available to members 7 days a week 6.30am
to 9.30am The facility boasts a fully equipped gym with changing
facilities. A fully qualified fitness team manages the gym and

Catering Facilities - Staff can
access the canteen facilities based at Bolton Hospitals Trust. There
is a 25% discount for PCT staff on production of your ID badge.

Club News - the magazine for NHS staff
(circulated every 2 months), includes a range of offers and

Costco Wholesalers - as an
employee of the Trust you automatically qualify to join. The
individual membership fee is £25 plus VAT, which includes a

Free Eye Tests - Staff who use a
computer continuously for 2 to 3 hours a day are classed as users
and are entitled to a free eye test. A screening eye test can be
provided by the Occupational Health Department who can then refer
you for an eye test. Further information is available in the Health
and Safety Policy Number 11 "Visual Display Equipment",
which you can access via your department's Yellow Health and Safety
Manual or on the PCT's website via the "Publications" or
"Clinical Governance" sections.
Hair and Beauty - 20% discount
available to all staff at Saks Hair and Beauty Salon, 26-28

Health Clubs/Leisure Facilities:-
The Last Drop Hotel is offering
to any PCT employee and spouse a discounted corporate membership for
their leisure club. The leisure club boasts a state of the art
gymnasium and heated swimming pool along with a unique thermal suite
comprising saunas, steam rooms and outdoor hydrotherapy pool. If you

Total Fitness would like to invite

Hospital Saturday Benefits
- Bolton & District Hospital Saturday - NHS employees can join
the scheme to help with medical expenses, including access to a 24
hour telephone advice line service providing legal advice, medical
information line and counselling services to you over the phone. For

Lunchtime Walks - the PCT have
teamed up with the Local Authority and have organised lunchtime

Makro Self Service
Wholesalers Ltd - arrangements have been made with the Manager
of Makro at their branch at Barton Moss, Liverpool Road, Eccles (tel:
0161-789-6911), for employees of Bolton PCT to become members. To
obtain your membership card, you must attend in person at Makro,
report to reception, inform reception that you are employed by the
PCT, take your ID badge and you will then be registered with Makro.
This will enable you to purchase goods from within the warehouse.
Microsoft Office at Home -
as part of a new offering from Microsoft you are eligible to
participate in the Home Use Program (HUP).
This program enables you to get a licensed copy of most Microsoft
Office desktop applications to install and use on your home computer
- for the price of the CD, postage and packing. (Credit Card
Required on line.)
For each product eligible for the Home Use Program, you may order a
single copy of that product to install and use on a home computer.
You may continue using this HUP software while you are under our
employment

Occupational Health - What's on
offer and how to access these services - Contact the Occupational
Health department on 01204-390607. Services currently provided are:
podiatry, advice on healthy lifestyles including counselling and
screening facilities such as heart screening. The department also
offers advice on risk factors for heart disease eg. smoking, stress
and also informal and confidential counselling service via
independent counsellors.

- PCT staff can access the smoking cessation service located at
Crompton Way HC - for further information contact 01204-462345.
Walk In Centre - There is a Walk In
Centre based at Lever Chambers where any member of staff can go for
advice on health matters. The Walk In Centre is open from 8.30am to
7pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 4.30pm at weekends. Telephone
