What has happened so far?
There are three stages to IWL:-
- Pledge Status
- Practice Status
- Practice Plus Status
Bolton PCT has achieved Pledge status and Practice Status and
is working towards achieving Practice Plus status. This means that
the PCT has made a commitment to having the policies, practices
and people in place to achieve IWL and improve the work/life
balance for staff.
An IWL Steering Group has been established, along
with 4 Staff Working Groups and Staff Champions to ensure the PCT
achieves Practice Plus status in March 2006.
How are we assessed?
The PCT has to produce and submit a Self Assessment Report in
readiness for validation in November 2005. The report will also
include producing a portfolio of evidence around the 7 standards to
prove that policies and procedures are in place to improve the
working lives of staff. The Validation Team will interview staff
about how particular procedures work in reality.
