Life Long Learning Project

Foundation Stones - Non Taught CPD

A great deal of life skills were not taught to you in a classroom or at a conference. You probably learned them by watching others, asking questions and 'having a go'.

Reading journals and using the Internet will be information sought out by you because you have a desire to learn. Experts are often happy to share their knowledge and help.

These are all valuable forms of non-taught professional development.

Learning through experience is long lasting, and the learning process itself can provide a wealth of learning.

Are you a reflector or an activist?
Do you like solving problems on your own?
What type of team member are you?

We all have busy professional lives and have not always got the time to devote a whole day to professional development. We may need specific skills that are not catered for in a course.

Embrace the concept of learning in the work place, talk to colleagues, set up journal clubs supervision groups, look at Audit and seek to understand. Try teaching your skills to others.
