Life Long Learning Project

Foundation Stones - Portfolio Building

Need to start your professional portfolio?

Don't know where to start?
Confused about what you can include in your portfolio?

Then look no further - we can give guidance and support.

We can help you demystify the process of portfolio building and support you in getting started.

Starting a portfolio can be a daunting process but we can help you to get started. A portfolio can sell you as an all round professional, use it for professional registration purposes, to provide evidence for your personal development planning or to promote you as an individual for interview purposes.

Portfolio Development incorporating Reflective Practice can effectively be delivered to you and your colleagues in sessions from 2 hours long to full day events. The sessions will introduce the concept of Continued Professional Development and Lifelong Learning, how to construct a portfolio, how to link the KSF dimensions into your portfolio and how to use basic reflective processes to demonstrate learning and development within your portfolio.

The overall objective for the training session is to provide an introduction to reflective practice and portfolio development.

By the end of the session, the specific learning outcomes indicate that the student will be able to:

  1. Define lifelong learning and continued professional development
  2. Discuss how to put a professional portfolio together
  3. Identify the links between a professional portfolio and personal development plans and the knowledge and skills framework
  4. Define reflective practice
  5. Identify different models of reflection
  6. Discuss the benefits that reflection can have on their practice
