Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) are a way of finding out the effects
that a proposed policy is likely to have on people, depending on their
background. Policy can relate to anything the PCT does whether that's to do
with a service, project, initiative or a procedure. We need to minimise the
risk that a proposed policy could affect some groups unfavourably. This
process also requires monitoring the actual effects of the policy once it is
implemented in order to see whether or not it is working effectively.
Any completed EIAs will be published on the website which is a
requirement under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000
The EIA toolkit includes forms to help you through the process. The
training notes also provide useful background and guidance. Training
sessions are available. If you would like further information or have any
queries about the training then please contact
