Risk Management
Risk Management in the Bolton Primary Care Trust uses a proactive
approach which:
- Addresses all activities of the Trust clinical, operational, financial,
information systems, and other non-clinical activities.
- Works with other organisations and contractors to identify the range of
risks to which the Trust is exposed;
- Uses risk assessment tools to assess those risks for likelihood, impact
of severity and cost;
- Removes those risks which can be removed and minimises the effects of
those that cannot by implementing various risk control measures;
- Produces a Risk management plan, identifying areas of risk and the
measures to be taken to control those risks
- Will attempt to establish high levels of safety for patient care, to
reduce the risks of injury to patients, staff and to others frequenting
Trust sites or using services provided by the Trust.
The role of the Risk Management department, based at Great Lever Health
Centre, Rupert Street, Great Lever, Bolton, BL3 6RN, is to help the PCT
produce and achieve the aims of its Risk Management Plan, by providing
advice and support to all levels of the organisation and its contractors
