Football teams wanted!

Fit an hour of enjoyable vigorous exercise into your working day and help promote some healthy intra PCT football rivalry to boot!

Members of the Public Health Department and colleagues in St Peters House have recently started playing 5 and 7 a side football in their lunchtime at Burnden Sports Complex.

Matches against the PCT IT department, Great Lever Neighbourhood Management Pathfinder, a Kurdish refugee team, and the IT department from the council have already been played, but we're looking for more opponents, as we need the practice! If you think your department, service, building, team or whatever can muster up 5 or more players please contact us to arrange a match. If you can't muster up a team but fancy playing football yourself let us know so we can include you in future matches.

IT/RBMS vs PHAST
19th April 2005

A joint IT and RBMS side were victorious over the Public Health All Stars Team (plus many guests) on Wednesday by a 6-3 score line. Despite a good start, PHAST found Shaukat Musa in Cech-like form in goal for IT/RBMS and barely found a way past him despite the best efforts of Ali Rehman and Eric Jelenje. As the game drew on, IT/RBMS started to control the play more and more. The loss of Gary 'right wing back wizard' Bickerstaffe, late in the game, hit PHAST hard (Gary had the cheek of having to leave to go back to work!!!). Goals from Mike Peall, Dan Milman, Oliver Lomax and Michael Clarke changed the game for IT/RBMS and led to win a deserved win.
