Salford Triathlon - Run Details

Once the cyclist has completed their 4th lap they will re enter transition area and pass the timing band to their team's runner.
The run is the climax of the Triathlon and you will enjoy:

  • The chances to run, hop, skip or crawl thought the finishing banner in front of the Lowry
  •  The adulation of the large crowds as you cross the superb bridge which links the Lowry to the Imperial War museum
  • The chance to hear your name resound around the whole of Salford.·

The 5k run route consists of 2 laps around the quays. The route is flat and takes in some of the paths, which run along side the basins in the dock. There are aid stations along the route. You do not need to be super fit or even a regular runner now, all you need is a desire to take part and a willingness to do a small bit of training. (Although even this is optional)
Last year the slowest runner took well over an hour to complete the 3.5-mile course.

In the run up to the Triathlon we will be organising a trip to take part in a practice 5k in the Manchester area.
