Training for Staff Working for Us

Bolton PCT provides a range of in-house training for its own employees. Most general and clinical training is provided through our Learning and Development Department based at Pikes Lane. Training in IM&T and computer skills is provided by the IT department based at Huntingdon House.

The PCT encourages staff to learn and develop through a variety of techniques in addition to formal courses, and it supports many staff to gain new qualifications such as NVQs.

The Learning & Development Strategy provides a broad outline of the proposed direction for staff development over the next 2 years. It refers to the growing evidence base linking effective training and appraisal, to positive patient and staff outcomes. The Learning & Development Steering Group are developing a supporting action plan to facilitate implementation and monitoring of the strategy.
