Bolton Smoke-Free Homes

Protect your family from tobacco smoke

England went Smokefree On July 1st

What can I do if other people living in my house want to continue to smoke indoors?

Discuss how important it is to protect your family from second hand smoke.
Be sympathetic to people who wish to smoke, but firm about your right to breathe fresh air in a Smoke-Free Home. Try to find one of the promises you can all agree too.

Will I upset visitors, in particular friends & relatives if I ask them not to smoke in my house?

Explain to them that tobacco smoke is harmful, especially to your children. Good friends and loving
relatives will understand.
