Halliwell Children's Nursery and Pre-School Unit

This is an integrated play facility for children of all abilities aged 2 - 5 years old. The Nursery was established with the aim of providing opportunities to facilitate the assessment and development of pre-school children to help them achieve their full potential.

We have a specialist health team comprising trained nurses, nursery nurses and nursing assistants. The nursery is divided into two small groups - the Integrated Nursery and the Pre-School.

We provide assessment and therapeutic services for children in a safe and stimulating environment.

Integrated Nursery

The number of children at each session is maximum of eight. Each session will provide places for four children form the local community who attend for one academic year. Four children attend for assessment and therapeutic needs.

Pre-School Unit

This unit is specifically for children who have a developmental delay and additional behavioural needs. There are places for four children attending each session two days per week for one academic year.
Children are assessed and individual programmes are planned in a structured environment to help them reach their full potential.
The children integrate with the nursery children and staff for part of the day.
Staff work in partnership with parents and other health care workers and agencies involved with meeting the children's needs. Click here for more information
