Dental Services

Most NHS dental services are provided by independent dental practitioners who have a contract with the NHS. On 1st April 2006 a new contract came into force. Most of Bolton's dental practices are continuing to do NHS work under the new contract. For more information on the new dental contract click here.

If you want to find a dentist near you, go to www.nhs.uk/and search for your nearest dentist. This will tell you which dentists are treating adults and children under the new contract and which will treat children only. Not all these dentists will have room to take on additional patients at any given time. If you need treatment urgently and have been unable to find a dentist who can see you, please contact NHS Direct on 0845 4647. They can direct you to the most appropriate local service.
