Oral Health Promotion

The Oral Health Promotion Department is based at Waters Meeting Health Centre

Our Sessions are based on the

A. B. C. of Dental Health

Avoid sugary snacks and drinks between meals.

Brush teeth twice a day with Fluoride toothpaste.

Check up regularly with a dentist.

Our Staff hold qualifications in Oral Health training / teaching Oral Health and our sessions are in compliance with the policy document - 'The scientific Basis of Dental Health Education'.

Our Aim is

To reduce the incidence of oral disease throughout Bolton District

Our Objectives being:

  • To raise the level of understanding of the relationship between diet and dental decay.
  • To increase the knowledge of how to improve and maintain oral health
  • To encourage the uptake of dental services to increase the number of children attending a dentist on a regular basis

We provide direct education to:

  • Nursery school children
  • Primary school pupils
  • Senior school pupils

and group /training sessions for:

  • Ante and Post Natal
  • Parent and Carers of young children
  • Parent and Toddlers groups
  • Crèche workers
  • Nursery Staff
  • Child Minders
  • Student of Child Care
  • Nurses and Midwives
  • Primary Healthcare teams
  • Care workers for people with special needs/elderly
  • Other professional groups or individuals
