Introducing the Community Infection Control Team

The team provides infection control advice to Bolton Primary Care Trust, Bolton Council and independent contractors, such as GPs and dental practices.

What do we do?

Infection control includes the prevention and management of infections using research-based knowledge. Our work involves: standard precautions, surveillance and audit, advice on minor surgery, waste segregation, involvement in new build and refurbishment projects, outbreak management, infection control training for clinical and non–clinical staff and acting as a resource for staff and members of the public
