Out of Hours ServiceDon't hesitate to call 999 if you think someone's life may be in danger! For expert health advice from a qualified nurse and information about the availability of local services call NHS Direct on 0845 4647 If you think you may need to see a doctor, first call the practice you are registered with. Out of hours their answering service should tell you what to do to get an urgent consultation with a doctor. Remember some local pharmacies are open late in the evenings and at weekends, and the pharmacist can advice on home treatment for many minor ailments. For information on local pharmacies including opening hours, click here. If you think you may need urgent dental treatment, first call the dental surgery you are registered with. Out of hours, their answering service should tell you what to do to get urgent attention. If you live in Bolton and you're not registered with a dental practice, you may be able to make an appointment with the local Emergency Dental Service. Call 01204 526509 after 5.15pm on weekdays to make an appointment. The Accident and Emergency Service at the Royal Bolton Hospital is open 24 hours a day, but remember it's for accidents and emergencies only. NHS Walk In Centres provide a "no appointment necessary"
