Rapid Response TeamThe Rapid Response Team enables Bolton residents who would otherwise be admitted into hospital to be cared for in their home environment. We deliver care and treatments for patients with short or long-term conditions, who need a range of intravenous interventions including chemotherapies, blood and platelet products, antibiotics and other intravenous medications. We also offer a venesection service on behalf of the Royal Bolton Hospital consultants for their patients being cared for at home. (Venesection is taking blood to reduce abnormally high iron levels.) Our Healthcare Assistants also support the community anticoagulation service in recording readings from finger-prick blood tests, and can take blood samples from housebound patients, to send off for testing. The Rapid Response Team can be contacted on 01204 531371. |
