|
Alfred has worked in the field of public health for nearly 30 years. Starting his career as an Environmental Health Officer with Salford City Council, he worked in the inner city and saw first hand the effects on peoples’ lives of health deprivation. He also saw the effects good health decisions can make with the regeneration of Salford Quays. Alfred then moved to St Helens where he specialised in the field of infectious disease control and its relevance to public health. Whilst at St Helens, Alfred completed his Master of Science degree. Alfred has given many presentations of his work to Conferences throughout the country. In Bolton, Alfred has continued to look at how health inequalities impact on public health, which brought him into the area of tobacco control. He has worked closely with his co-speaker Deborah Collinson on tackling this issue, one of the fruits of which is today’s Seminar. |
