DEBORAH COLLINSON

Workplace Programme Manager – Bolton Primary Care Trust

Deborah has worked in the field of Tobacco Control and Smoking Cessation for a number of years in Bolton as Tobacco Control Manager and more recently in an acting capacity as Regional Tobacco Policy Manager for Government Office North West in a seconded position.

Deborah has a background in supporting, motivating and encouraging local people to act in the interests of their own health, stemming back to her years as Chief Officer of the Community Health Council in Bolton and later in Preston. Deborah has now moved into a much broader public health role – Workplace Programme Manger – and hopes to have the opportunity to work in partnership to help local businesses to understand that improving the health of their workforce is better for health and better for business. Deborah is an advocate for smoke-free environments and has worked with many businesses and shops including Crompton Place Shopping Centre in Bolton to successfully bring about smoke-freedom.
