Tobacco Smoke

Tobacco Smoke also kills. Around 3 million people in the UK are regularly exposed to second hand tobacco smoke in their workplace. The impact of second hand smoke on the health of people exposed to it can be seen in two ways. Short term exposure symptoms include such things as headaches, eye irritation, sore throat, coughing and or wheeziness. Long term exposure increases the risk of strokes, vascular disease, respiratory illness and lung cancer. As a direct result of workplace exposure as many as 700 workers die each year in the UK
